Intrasystem - RFRScanner Copyright 2024 by Raimund Forstmeier - Padova/Italy ============================================================================ ----------------------------- April 2024 Edition - V 1.1.5 - Freeware ----------------------------- For RFRScanner/CATConverter/YADDSDRC user: proceed with Downloading using the PWD you received. If you don't use one of the 3 request the download Keys. Ready for Download - The new RFRScanner v 1.1.8 - The new CATConver v. 1.0.1 - The new YADDSDRC v. 1.0.1 This freeware editions are professional programs. There are significant changes. Version 1.1.8 - July 2024 New > The Intrasystem "Serial Port Editor/Monitor" is included with RFRScanner. This SerialPort Editor is quite different including OmniRig and 1 OutPort. Output Frequency-Number format selection. You must create a Desktop connection to: SerialPort.exe Download from the RFRScanner Web-Page. ---- NOTA ---- The CATConvert and YADDSDRC programs are not requested for the RFRScanner program. While CATConvert is converting all CATCommands the small YADDSDRC is reading Icom, Yaesu, Kenwood CAT and HEX-Format but the OutPut is always a 'Kenwood' Catstring. The use of this programs together with RFRScanner is depending on your needs and imagination capacity. Imagination is not only the uniquely human capacity. ================== """ RFRScanner """ ================== A) The most significant change is the fact that the entire scanner system depends only on the "Type" of the 'Rig' and not on the individual Radio as Type. ShortCut " F5 " While the Scanner is running you can change: - the type of Radio - the scanner frequency 'Step' - the scanner 'delay' - the [ Int ] Interrupt with a message B) A second "Out Port" added. C) The [ Int ]"Interrupt Scanning" CheckBox. This very useful interrupt with a Frequency Message display can be 'interrupted' and re-activated. D) CAT Control View (F5) Icom Radios > 4 or 5 bytes with one click. Explanation > hereafter E) A Serial Port Monitor is included. New > The Intrasystem "Serial Port Editor" is also included with RFRScanner. Stand-Alone program. This SerialPort Editor is quite different including OmniRig and 1 OutPort. F) RFRScanner is converting the SDRC "SDR-Favourites_UNK-ALE.xml" for scanning this Frequencies. The file you need can be created by yourself just reading the SDRC xml file + copying the Freq + Mode. RFRScanner is just doing it faster for you. RFRScanner is reading this File in Folder: - Folder: 'SDRCHexTxt' - File: 'ALExmlFreq.Txt you create - Freq + Mode: 5318000;USB 5325700;LSB ..... ..... G) RFRScanner connected via USB to Serial or OmniRig and "Scanning" NOT active is now sending the Frequency via the "Out Port" to "CATConverter" or "YADDSDRC" or any other application. While you are tuning your Rig CATConverter + YADDSDRC can read the Freq + translate to other CAT. It is important to Read the "Start Help" in Menu "CATConverter". This is a important new option. Rig Types: ---------- * Elad Sdr (Kenwood) * Icom (4 + 5 Bytes) * Kenwood * Yaesu (4 + 5 Bytes) + 'Mode' - The 'Mode' is a 'Fix' part of the Yaesu CAT command. The selected radio is secondary and provides the Scanner with CAT-Data. If you connect your USB to Serial RIG and select a different "TYPE" then the RFRSCanner Frequency "Display" would be wrong! But YADDSDRC + CATConverter are reading the correct data. RFRScanner is connecting to USB Serial via [Open Port] and Menu > OmniRig. Added a second 'Out Port', ComPort selection. Very fast. ======================================================== * Now it is the Main-Port for connections to other 'Devices'. * Use only ComPorts: 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, 25 as explained with the CATConverter. [Open Port] or OmniRig USB to SerialPort and "Out Port" can be connected to the Scanner. [Out Port] is always connected. COM Ports available now ----------------------- [Open Port] mainly used for a USB to Serialport connection [Port Out] the new 'OutPut' ComPort selection [OmniRig] RFRScanner is including a complete OmniRig Menu. RFRScanner 'F5' > CAT Control View "Type" - Creating CATCommands - Used by RFRScanner ---------------------------------- NEW --- For Icom Radios this view is now accepting 5 + 4 Byte Radios just with 1 Click. If you edit a 5Byte Radio you could change to 4Byte. The changes are visible 'within' this Record View but the Record itself is not changing. The Scanner would read a 4 Byte CAT command. The selection is on Top [x]Select Frequency as BCD 5byte. (or 4Byte) 4 or 5 Bytes is only depending on the 'Frequency'. 999.999,99 or > The 'Default' Record Rig files can't be changed and saved for security. It is possible to create new Record Files. ELAD SDR Radios --------------- [TCP] the Elad Tcp connection. Connect to any Elad Radio + FDM SW2 and RFRScanner. Your 'USB to Serial Port' RIG can be connected together. (Or use OmniRig) Menu > HELP ----------- There are now 4 selections evidenced with 'Yellow' color. This are the primary Help options you should read in order to understand the "Scanner" of RFRScanner. Menu > ICOM ----------- Select a Icom Radio if you don't know the Ci-V address. The Ci-V address is inserted into the CAT Control View. (F5) RFRScanner > Top right corner is indicating the Ci-V address. You can Input a different address. Read the "Help Ci-V". Example: Your Rig = IC-8500 F5 > CAT Control View select Icom IC-7300. Ci-V address would be wrong. Now Input "4A" into the small Input Field. "4A" is copied into the IC-7300 Ci-V Fields. Now it works like a IC-8500. (for reading the "Mode" select the IC-7300) Others ------ - The "Mode" (F5) (CAT Control View) has been excluded for the moment. Same with View (F4) (Frequency dBase) > (F7) > save in (RFR) tuned frequencies. - Main Port > [Open Port] should be used for a USB to SerialPort connection only. - Specific help added in the [Help] Menu to facilitate introduction to the functions. - For a normal use you don't need OmniRig anymore. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< """ CATConverter """ """ YADDSDRC """ RFRScanner changes adapted. Both are reading CAT-Commands + Hex-Strings > CAT-Commands. Both can be used for YADD and Thetis > SDRC > Kenwood. """ CATConverter """ Version 1.1.8 New CATConverter is now reading the 4 Frequency "Number" Types. With the "SerialPort.exe" (Intrasysten Serial Port Monitor) and OmniRig you can select 4 number formats and send to a different "OutPort". New CAT Convert option added. 'Kenwood to Yaesu' New [Info] > Info > Stay on TOP > BackGround view > with 4 colors. Covers your Desktop behind. New CAT Convert option added. 'Income => OutPut' Please don't get confused. This Selection is a) converting and b) sending the "Income CAT" to the OutPut Port. You can test it with the SerialPort Monitor. While the RFRScanner is running you can switch between the two CATStrings. The use of it is not common. Your Application could read more then 1 CAT Type and you don't have to stop the CATConverter. Example: CATConverter is receiving a ICOM CAT and converting to Kenwood. Out COM17. YADDSDRC is reading the selected 'Kenwood' CAT. COM18. If you engange the 'Income => OutPort the OutPut is sending the Icom Cat and YADDSDRC can read it without changing the 'Kenwood' selection. This is just a example you would not use but it demonstrates the use of the "Out Port" + "OutPut". -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- COM Ports available - Income Port - Out Port - OmniRig (send => Rig) Converting - Icom, Yaesu, Kenwood, Elad SDR => CAT command "Kenwood". - Icom => Yaesu / Yaesu Mode selection + 4 or 5 Byte - Kenwood => Icom / Icom Ci-V selection + 4 or 5 Byte - Yaesu => Icom / Icom Ci-V selection + 4 or 5 Byte - Kenwood => Yaesu / Yaesu Mode selection + 4 or 5 Byte Can be used for YADD and Thetis > SDRC > Kenwood. Serial Port Monitor included. """YADDSDRC"" Version 1.1.8 New "YADDSDRC" is now reading the 4 Frequency "Number" Types. With the "SerialPort.exe" (Intrasysten Serial Port Monitor) and OmniRig you can select 4 number formats and send to a different "OutPort". You now receive the RFRScanner with the new 'Port' "Out Port" x Icom, Kenwood, Yaesu, Elad SDR => OutPut => only Kenwood CAT command. COM Ports available - Income Port - Out Port (only Kenwood CAT) Can be used for YADD and Thetis > SDRC > Kenwood. Think at your possible Error not at a possible program 'Bug'. ------------------------------------------------------------- - Imagine it as a 'circle'. "OutPort COM15" > CATConverter COM16 > OutPut COM17 > YADDSDRC COM18 CAT "Type" Icom > Convert to Yaesu > OutPut > Receive 'Yaesu'. You would not use this example but it is selfexplanatory. - Income and OutPort (Port conflict) A Port could result as Error (not available) even if this Port is not selected by any application. Just change the Port. It is strongly suggested to use only the "comOcom" virtual ComPort Emulator. I would like to remind you that changes and adaptations may require a significant change of the code. The RFRScanner "SEARCH" Feature ------------------------------- ShortCut " F4" RFRScanner > Menu > HELP > Primary Help > F4 > Frequency database View > Search > read "H". A precise explanation how you should use and organize the "Search" feature. Understand the difference between [copy to (RFR)] and the F7 shortcut x saving Frequencies for a quick scanning. When a program is opened it should never use a ComPort of another program opened! The included Serial Port Monitor is a good mean for viewing your settings. =============================== The Frequency converter program =============================== I would like to remind you that RFRScanner includes the "Convert" Folder which contains the "Convert.exe" program. This program converts (+ extract) any Frequency "Text File" like *.txt, *.csv etc. into a file readable by RFRScanner and the "Elad Sdr" program. Download a Frequency textfile and convert it. Real examples are included. Only a few user use it. Maybe because it's not very easy to use. RFRScanner is connected to the Elad Sdr Radios in a particular way. ============================== Example just as demonstration ============================== Imagine RFRScanner => YADDSDRC => CATConverter as a Pipe-Line. Each with Entry and Exit. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Any program is sending the "Converted" Cat-command with the "Out Port". If you send a Icom Cat-string from RFRScanner (COM15) to "YADDSDRC/Using 'to Kenwood'" (COM16) then YADDSDRC is receiving COM16 and - The Out Port is sending the "Kenwood" Cat-string as example to COM17. - CATConvert is receiving COM18 and could use "Out Port" COM19. (read it with the Monitor, COM20) CATConvert receiving a Kenwood Cat-String must be set to a "Kenwood =>" Convert selection. In this case you could use "Kenwood => Icom" or "Kenwood => Yaesu" or "Kenwood => Kenwood. Same Logic applies using "CATConverter" to "YADDSDRC" or to your Application connected. This is just a example you would not use but it demonstrates the use of the "Out Port" + "OutPut". -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Intrasystem - Padova/Italy Version 1.1.8 July - 2024 Raimund .
